FAQ'S
STCs or Small-scale Technology Certificates are a tradeable commodity created for eligible renewable energy systems and can be obtained for the value of the emissions reduction they create. Under the Federal Government’s Small Scale Renewable Energy Scheme, the STC value will be deducted from the total quoted price of the solar system, which in turn reduces the final price of the system, making the solar system more affordable.
Feed-in tariff is a payment in the form of credits, which customers receive from the power retailer for exporting the surplus electricity to the grid. It varies across states and territories, between retailers, and in some states, even across distribution networks. A minimum feed-in tariff is set every financial year and electricity retailers must pay these or higher.
In the event of a blackout, your solar PV system will automatically stop generating electricity due to safety reasons. This is a mandatory requirement in order to protect anyone working on the blacked-out grid. Once power is restored to the grid, your system will start generating electricity.
Yes, clouds can diffuse or block sunlight, which in turn restricts the amount of sunlight absorbed by the solar PV system. There will still be electricity generated but at a reduced output.
